Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage/therapeutic massage/aromatherapy massage. Please state when booking if you’d like a deep tissue massage or more gentle one.

Deep tissue massage relieves aches and pain from sore backs, necks and shoulders and helps to calm the body. I work intuitively with the body and use pressure points and trigger points to relieve tension and soreness, including in the sciatic area. I sometimes use the massage gun to deeply penetrate tight muscles including glutes, quadriceps and hamstrings. The massage gun can break down the knots and tension and help you to feel lighter and better able to exercise. Many of my clients are keen cyclists, runners etc. Unless requested not to, I include massage of the neck including (if appropriate) the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle which is a large muscle which runs either side of the neck and, if tight, is often the cause of headaches and can cause TMJ pain too. The SCM can become tight with long-term use of phone and computers. 

Relaxing the body also helps the mind to unwind and re-balance, helping you to feel calmer and better able to cope with the stresses of life and also to sleep more deeply.  It’s your treatment and each session is unique to your needs that day. Aromatherapy oils can aid relaxation and have other properties, including anti-inflammatory etc. I always ask clients what their preferred oils are or we can use plain base oil (soya bean) – the choice is yours.

You will be welcomed by calming music, scented candles, crackling log-burner and scented aromatherapy oils in my dedicated client room in West Sussex.

Alternatively the Elstead treatment room is peaceful and friendly and conveniently located near the A3.
